TOUR ITINERARY

 

 

DAY 1 - COBAR TO TIBOOBURRA - 500klm
Kicking off the tour with a big day on the bike, and getting a real taste of the size of the outback as we pass through Louth and Wanaaring. Then onto our first overnight stop at the Family Hotel in Tibooburra.

 

DAY 2 - TIBOOBURRA TO INNAMINKA - 380klm

Today we head to Innaminka on the mighty Cooper Creek, via the Sturt National Park and the Bore Track. You will start to get a real taste of the isolation and baronness of some parts of this country. As we approach Innaminka, we will visit the final resting place of one of the countries great explorers.

 

DAY 3 - INNAMINKA TO BIRDSVILLE - 480klm

As we leave Innaminka and follow the Cooper Creek, we will stop off at the "Burke and Wills - Dig Tree" for a little history lesson that will leave you with a new appreciation of these explorers. Then it's onto Haddon Corner, marking the North East corner of South Australia bordering onto Queensland. From here we head for the famous outback town of Birdsville where we will enjoy a cold beer at one of Australia's most iconic pubs.

 

DAY 4 - BIRDSVILLE TO POEPPEL CORNER - 170klm

we will spend the night camping out under the stars in the heart of the Simpson Desert at Poeppel Corner, the junction of the Northern Territory, South Australia and Queensland borders. The Simpson Desert National Park really is something to experience, and this is a great chance to take it all in while you sit back with a cold beer and generous camp meal as the sun sets over the desert.After a night relaxing at the Birdsville Hotel, its now time to venture into the desert proper. After crossing sand dunes all day long, 

 

DAY 5 - POEPPEL CORNER TO BIRDSVILLE - 170klm

Another day of sand dunes as we make our way back to Birdsville.

 

DAY 6 - BIRDSVILLE TO CAMERON CORNER - 470klm

This morning we wil travel on the famous Birdsville Track for a couple hours until we veer off towards Innaminka and Cameron Corner via Walkers Crossing and the Moomba mining area. Cameron Corner will mark the border junction of New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.

 

DAY 7 - CAMERON CORNER TO WHITE CLIFFS - 380klm

Back in NSW, we take in the Sturt National Park, the small township of Tibooburra and onto the outback Opal mining town of White Cliffs where we will book into something absolutely unique, our underground motel for the night. 

 

DAY 8 - WHITE CLIFFS TO COBAR - 410klm

Emerging from the underground, we head off on our last day of the tour. With some sight seeing along the way in Paroo-Darling National Park, we head for Tilpa on the shores of the Darling River. As we follow the river back to Louth and finally finishing up in Cobar where we will spend the night reliving all the highs and lows of our adventure over dinner and a cold drink.

 

 

 

 

 

** While every effort is made to have our tours run like clockwork, we need to remember that an "Adventure Tour" is exactly that!    It's "AN ADVENTURE". We are at the mercy of natures little hurdles, it may be a collapsed road, a river thats too high or an outback wind storm. Whatever the case may be, we will need to be flexible in these times and alter our course to get to our destination.
